A return visit: I first saw this production at the Royal Opera House in March 2013, back when I was living in London. This time it was the 1pm matinee on the opening day of the Royal Ballet's 2024/25 season, and I made the trip into London just for it. Front row upstairs, with an interval ice cream booked in advance. More than ten years on, the staging still felt inventive, and I went home happy.
